The trips that need a flight

And Far.

Near covers New England, no plane required. Everywhere else is here — every guide built from our own family's travels, starting with the same question: what does Boston Logan actually fly nonstop, and what does the rest of the trip look like once you land. Self-guided, stroller-tested, kept up to date.

We asked for the room service menu at our resort in Thailand, and their response still lives rent free in our heads. A new one for the guide list.

Added value, not the point

Living near Logan helps.
It is not the plan.

Every guide above states the Boston routing first because it decides the dates and half the budget — but the trip itself is the reason to go. If you want the maintained list of what flies nonstop out of Logan right now, see every route here. If you'd rather skip the research and have us build the itinerary, that's what Plan Your Trip is for.

Good to know

Questions, answered

What does "And Far" mean on this site?

It's our name for every trip that needs a flight, as opposed to Near, which covers New England weekends you can drive to. And Far is every guide we've written from our own travels abroad, all routed from Boston Logan.

Do I need to fly out of Boston for these guides to be useful?

No, but they're most specific if you do. Every guide states the Logan routing first because that decision shapes the dates and the budget, then covers the trip itself in enough detail to be useful from any starting airport.

Which destination is easiest for a first trip abroad with kids?

Iceland or Ireland. Both have a reliable year-round nonstop from Boston under 6 hours, English is spoken, and neither requires the multi-stop logistics of Southeast Asia or Australia.

Can Nowhere On Earth plan one of these trips for us?

Yes — this is exactly what our trip planning service is built for. We build the flight routing, a shortlist of places to stay, and a day-by-day plan for one of these And Far destinations, starting at $499.

What's the difference between a guide and an article here?

Guides are full destination write-ups, one per place, like Paris or Iceland. Articles are shorter and often seasonal — winter roundups, school vacation timing, and the destination teasers we post to Instagram before a guide is written. Use the filters above to tell them apart.
