An Unconventional Life - #1

I just woke up in our cozy apartment in Sofia, Bulgaria at 4 AM because Selima is wide awake and wanted someone to hang out with. I tried to get her to go back to sleep for an hour, but she refused. We flew in yesterday afternoon from Dubai. The jet lag is real. The only coffee maker we have is a manual press espresso machine from DeLonghi. Luckily, I learned how to make it this way at home, after a previous trip to Italy. And someone left some unexpired and unopened espresso roast in the cupboard.

We landed in Sofia yesterday after a three month long adventure in Indonesia, where the girls went to school with Boundless Life and we lived and worked on the island of Bali. We also visited Malaysia and Australia while we were there. Our girls spent more time in water over the past three months than their entire lives combined. And we can say the same about coffee and lunch dates. We regularly drank fresh juices, swam in the sea and ate delicious world cuisine.

It went by in a blur. And on this crisp spring morning in Sofia, I can’t help but reflect on how incredible of a life it is that we’re intentionally building. It’s no secret that travel is our passion. But travel isn’t actually the goal. Partially because it will never end, or be achieved. Travel is what we do BECAUSE of our lifestyle. Our goal is to build a life that allows us to be location independent, so we can go where we want, when we want and spend that time with people we care about. We hope to inspire others to do the same.

Needless to say, behind all of the social media posts and stories of our travels, are LONG days and late nights (or in this case, early mornings) of working tirelessly to make sure we can support THE dream. Both of us are balancing being spouses, parents, children, earning income and LIVING our dream.

So whether you want to travel the world like us, or just interested in an unconventional lifestyle, please follow along!
