Scroll down for all of the gear we use when traveling with our two young children!

Airplane Seat Cushion

FlyPal:

If you are flying with a toddler (we always get a seat for a baby and bring on the car seat) these inflatables are key because they can be used to fill the gap between the seats and create a bed for them.

Portable Potty seat

This is a MUST HAVE for traveling with young kids. You can either use it on a traditional toilet, OR beside the road if an “emergency” arises!

Sound Machine

Rohm Portable Sound Machine:

We use these for both the girl’s rooms, but also bring them on the go with us. They are small (easily packed) and can run off battery, if needed.

We try and stay away from WiFi monitors because many hotels require authenticating your device in order to connect to the internet. This one is so simple and doesn’t use Wi-Fi (we use it for both girls - 2 cameras and 1 hand held).

Travel Crib

Lotus Travel Crib by Guava:

Lightweight, durable and packs up easily into a backpack. At 13 lbs, it doesn’t get any easier to bring a bed with you. It might be a bit more expensive than others on the market, but this travel crib has been with us at every toddler bound destination.

Crib Essentials

Portable Crib Mattress

We use this portable mattress, so that a Gloria has a little extra cushion in her Guava travel crib!

Fitted Crib sheets

We use these sheets from Comfy Cubs and love them!

Baby Monitor Arm

This portable arm easily attaches to the porta-crib in a few seconds, so you don’t have to worry about finding elevated surfaces to put your baby monitor.

Carriers

Baby Bjorn:

We use this religiously both around the house and on the road to put Gloria to sleep (and did the same with Selima). It could replace the carrier above up to a certain age.

Ergo Baby 360 Carrier:

This is our “go-to” baby carrier once we needed something a little larger than the Baby Bjorn.

Kelty Journey PerfectFit Child Carrier:

For the hikes we do with our toddler Selima, this has been a life saver. It’s easy to use and very comfortable for both the toddler being carried and the parent doing the carrying. It also doubles as a backpack, so you can store snacks, drinks and anything else you might need (i.e. diapers and wipes for baby #2).

Stroller

Summer 3Dlite:

We used this once Selima was old enough to sit up when travelling because it was easily folded and light. It also can easily be checked at the gate/airplane (like any stroller).

Play Mat

Tiny Love Meadow Days Sunny Day Gymini:

This is always nice to have because it folds up easily and is somewhere you can lay down a baby and keep them busy for a few minutes when on the go.

Portable Bassinet

Ingenuity Foldaway Rocking Bassinet:

For the baby travelers out there, this portable bassinet has worked extremely well for us. The legs come off, it folds and then compresses. We wouldn’t recommend this when traveling via plane (it isn’t small enough for even the largest suitcases), but it is a no brainer otherwise.
