Whether we are taking pics for Instagram, recording videos for YouTube, or editing our content, this is the equipment we currently use
Cameras
Sony ZV1
This sweet little gadget allows us to easily record self-videos at high quality. We purchased it because it is simple to use, focuses quickly and is super light at only 10 oz. We use it with the Joby tripod below.
Canon EOS Rebel t6i
The T6 is a bit dated now, but has served us well for our amateur shots over the past few years. We don’t claim to be pros, and we aren’t telling anyone they have to buy this camera, but simply that it has served us well!
…We also take pics and film A LOT on our iPhone 11 Pros!
DJI Mavic Air 2
The Mavic is brand new to our arsenal of recording equipment. We are really looking forward to getting some cool shots and videos throughout our travels.
Computers
Surface Book
We’ve owned our Microsoft Surface for 5 years and absolutely love its functionality and portability. We use it for everything except editing - and once this one becomes obsolete, we will be purchasing another.
Asus Studio Book
This is our current work horse for editing. It definitely meets and exceeds our needs for editing and processing large files. The only downsides are that it is a little heavy and the battery depletes pretty quickly when handling large editing jobs and not connected to an outlet.
Tripods, Gimbals and More
Joby Gorillapod 3K
We use this tripod exclusively for filming with the Sony ZV1, either as a tripod, or arm extension while walking
Yongnuo LED Lights
We like these lights because they are extremely bright and extremely portable. Given our lifestyle, they are easy to put up and take down in the various filming locations that we use.
TONOR Microphone
Gotta get those voice overs right. This microphone is crystal clear (sometimes a little too clear when the girls are screaming in the background).
Zhiyun Smooth 4
This gimbal has been perfect for us so far when using our iPhone 11 pros to film. It gives us the ability to take some decently smooth shots.
