The best time
to visit Thailand with kids.
November through February, the cool, dry season, gives the most comfortable temperatures across our own Bangkok-to-Krabi route. Heat and jet lag both still deserve real planning, even in this window.
November through February.
This stretch runs cooler and drier than the rest of the year, the most comfortable window for the full route: Bangkok to reset, Chiang Mai for temples and Elephant Nature Park, then Krabi for the beach. It does not eliminate the heat, just softens it.
Jet lag, no matter the season.
There is no nonstop route from Boston, and the time-zone shift is severe regardless of when you fly. We would not schedule anything for the first day or two in Bangkok in any season, cool and dry included; that recovery time is about the flight, not the weather.
Search Vrbo rentals, already set to Chiang Mai’s old city. Look for two bedrooms and a full kitchen. Where we would stay. Affiliate link, our disclosure.
